Headshot Crew is here and we need this crew in shape!

Not only did I hit my goal I surpassed it!

As many of you know from this post I was 230 lbs on January 1st. As you can see from my goal below when I first wrote this I wanted to hit 190 lbs for the regatta. A week prior to the event I was 187 lbs. If you are interested in how I did it you can check out my trainer: www.joelharperfit.com and my diet: http://headshotcrew.isagenix.com

I wish I had posted my goal for the regatta here, but in my head it was always to be in the top 5 at the event. Top 3 would be a major bonus. I didn't think I could pull of first or second because I wasn't able to spend much time on the water. However, I did it PEOPLE! 2nd place in the world for my age group.(45-55) Pretty darn cool! Got the silver medal to show for it.

How is everyone doing with their goals?

2015 HEADSHOT CREW FITNESS CHALLENGE!

Ok, so it's 2015 and I hope you are all setting goals for yourself for this year. One of mine is to get in shape. I've disregarded my health long enough and 2015 is my year to get in some serious shape!

I've got a few reasons for doing it. First, I turn 45 and become a master in the boat that I sailed when I was on the US Sailing Team. I have the masters world championship in July and my fighting weight in that boat was 180lbs. I don't think I can get there, but my goal is 190lbs for that regatta.

I've also got the Fstoppers workshop in the Bahamas in May and I hope a ton of you are going to make the effort to go this year! I've got limited space in my workshops, so if you do decided to go sign up! www.fstoppersworkshops.com For those going we should all make an effort to get it together for that event.

I've already started to roll, but I was such a slob at the the end of 2014 that I got my weight up to 230 lbs! I've never weighed that much, but I'm serious, hired a trainer, got my wife onboard and even my mother in-law who is the cook in the house is on the program.

If any of you guys are interested I'd like all of us to motivate each other. I'm posting the shot of my scale as well as a shot I took yesterday along with Damian, who wanted to jump onboard too.

We'll do updates during our upcoming crewcasts and see if I can get some giveaways behind it from some sponsors. I'll keep you guys posted on that end of things.

Do a body shot of yourself right now if you like and ladies don't be afraid here! A shot in a sports bra or whatever you deem appropriate will work. Or just do a scale shot if you aren't up for baring it all! Email them to info@peterhurley.com and I'll post them in here.

HERE WE GO PEOPLE!!!!  Easier done with a crew motivating you, so let's get to it!

Today show health says it may take up to 66 days to break a habit. Conventional wisdom say 21, but I'm in it for the long haul: http://www.today.com/health/think-itll-take-21-days-make-your-resolution-habit-try-2D11826051

I'm in punks! I recommend the Advocare 24 Day Challenge to get kick started. I've done it before and am about to do it again. It's a great kick in the pants. Let me know if you want more details.

I am so in on this. I'm at the heaviest I've ever been and I've been really disappointed in myself for it. Especially when I look back on my days when I was heavy into the martial arts. Being in the military I have even less of an excuse.

Either way I've been feeling it, and I feel it's time for a change. Photo to come once I'm home (writing this from work).

Step one for me will simply be cutting out the sugar. I drink pop (soda) like some people drink water.

This is awesome, I'm glad this is a thing.

Ok i am with you :) its long time i think i got to get back to workout so 2015 is the year !

I totally support this guys! Being healthy and fit should be one of our top priorities.

Unfortunatly I can't join you; I'm afraid if I lose any more weight I'll evaporate into thin air...

I cheer for all of you brave enough to do this and I look forward to see the results!

Maybe, if it's a better option for you Pedro, it doesn't have to be just about losing weight necessarily? Maybe in your case it can just be about being healither / getting fitter? I say that, but for all I know you're already a marathon runner or something haha... just a thought. :)

I'm in too..great idea Peter! Haven't had the time the last few months to do some workouts...a few days ago I was chatting with protegé Jonathan Brandon and he told me he's getting up every day at 5am to do some workouts..I thought..man..I wanna do this too...just maybe not at 5am.

I'm doing something pretty easy. Working with trainer Joel Harper a few days per week and doing his routine the other days. It's perfect because it only takes me 40 mins to do one workout. I'm doing an hour with Joel and my wife comes too. Pretty cool. His site is http://www.joelharperfitness.com/index.html and his total fit pack is what I'm doing. Feel great and it's as hard or as easy as you want to go with it. I'll keep you guys posted on progress.

No photo but I am in. Turning 50 this year and need some fitness goals. Everyone else's health has taken priority over mine this past year. Time to change that. Signed up for a personal trainer one a week through work and, if I can get the timing right, i think I am signing up for tap dancing! Thanks for the extra layer of accountability!!

Dancing of any kind if an amazing workout Anita. And it's fun.... which I consider one of the most important components of a workout (keeps you interested and motivated).

I am in!!!! not sure about the photo ha ha but since the spree cast with Peter talking about this a few months ago I signed up for Tennis lessons :) I need to hurry and eat all the left over sweets tonight so I can start tomorrow ... hope to see progress by February 1st :)

I'm in. This is one of my primary goals for 2015. When I met my wife 15 years ago I weighed 165lbs, when we got married 4 1/2 years later I weighed 190lbs. Today, I weigh near 260lbs. It's time to get back down to the wedding weight at a minimum.

I need to gain weight, that qualifies too?

I'm in! 44 years old, 5'8" and hit 150lbs. I'm 15 lbs over what I should be for my bone structure etc according to my doctor. Was down 5 until the holiday ice cream yelled my name! Getting tired of hearing my 6 year old say I still look pregnant! Bring it on and it sound like we need a name for this crew.

I'm in. Not sure what it is in the old money but I'm at 120kg and I need to drop 30kgs to keep the doctor happy

I'll do that. Turning 45 next month and 6'5". I used to weigh in at 286lbs about 10 years ago, dropped that within a couple of years to 216lbs , which I've managed to hold......but there is still quite a bit of flab which I need to tighten up. Haven't been inside of a gym for about a year now...bad boy! Work, kids, this that, excuses, excuses ;)

I'm in as well.
For me it's not so much about weight, but more about converting some pounds into muscle. My biggest concern is having a diet that is healthy and more natural to promote overall wellness.
Funny story. I did a session just before Christmas and the client is a Health/Wellness Coach. On top of that my MUA is also a Personal Fitness Trainer. Well the conversation started during the hair and makeup and continued during the shoot. The shoot actually went great and it totally put her at ease during the shoot; however after talking with her before, during, and after about following a healthy diet, I was totally freaked out about the eating habits of myself and my family. This was a big thing, as I actually have always tried to be fairly responsible, but this opened my eyes even more. Not sure if my wife and kids are too excited, but I'm doing it for sure. Bad news is that I'm no longer going to eat cereal (even the natural gluten free stuff), no more bread (basically no more empty carbs) and cut down on sugar. It won't be easy, but a simple headshot session totally freaked me out and convinced me it's time to change.

Im in!!! Need to get my butt back in fighting shape!

Let's get this crew shipshape! Swab those decks, matey! Keelhaul the scallywags!!!

Gordon: Gah carbs is somewhere else I need to work on... I just love breads and pastas so much. And it doesn't help that my daughter wants to be a pastry chef, she makes all the yummy foods and yeah, I help eat them, haha.

I'm in, been my 2015 goal after a sloppy 2nd half of 2014 finished off by Christmas.

Just the motivation I needed, fellow professionals getting their operations in order. The photo will be the driving force.

Great initiative Peter.

I'm in, the last two years of injury's and Photoshop training have taken their toll. Need to drop at least 15 lbs. See you in May, as long as we get to go sailing!!!!

I am in, turn 37 this Year, and need to do a lot for my body, starting bodyrock last year but with all the work what i have to be finished, i don't do it longer then a month. so i try that again this Year and go back to my local Judo Club as a Trainer. I have everything that i need, except motivation. So i love that and i am Sure we get that together.

for the records: 78Kg (172 lb) thats OK for my body size, but i need to exchange my fat with muscles!

I am the master of yo-yo dieting.

I have lost about a ton and gained about a ton plus 20 pounds.

Even before reading Peter´s post I have named 2015 the ultimate "loose-weight-and-get-fit" year! This should be the last attempt to get my punished body into shape - which swayed in my adult life up and down from 175 to 260 pounds. The only good thing is that I have in my wardrobe clothing for almost any size!!

2014 after about 8 years of a working nightmare (the 22 years before that had been bad, too) and a very happy end I had a good start with loosing about 20 pounds - until I got hit again by a personal Tsunami where I had to turn back into a workaholic. I gained this last quantum of strength needed by consuming calories. Yes - I got thru this Tsunami and yes I am fat again!!

My wife made it very clear - no photo unless I wanted a divorce! What a chance!! But then there would be no cook in the house!!

I am starting to change my diet of see-food (when I see food I have to eat it) to Paleo. I have done that before and I liked it. Perhaps due to the fact that I have a lot of Neandertal Genes! Then three main activities - mountain biking, rowing and swimming. And enough sleep.

One thing I would strongly recommend: do not dive into a competition who is the fastest looser! To the ones who mean serious business: it is more about changing our life and our eating habits on a long term basis!

Good luck to all of us!!!

Wish good luck to everyone!
I'm definitely not in. :)
For me it's the opposite direction: I have to gain weight as I got problems with my thyroid.
That's not easy, too.

I am also in - I am 185cm/6.8 weighing 88kg/194lbs - don't really think I should drop that much, but convert it to some muscles.

Oh yeah, gonna kick the smokes too. Gonna need some incentives though, maybe I should award myself a Profoto B1 if I make it;-)

I am in. I just turned 43. Going to the gym today. I'm only 5'1 and weigh 115 (so I don't need to lose weight) Need to work on my heart!! I tried two 5ks last year and once I hit 2 miles I die. Baby steps this year. I loved boxing with a trainer last year. LOVE it!! Great way to get drippy wet sweaty and some frustration out! Good luck everyone!!

Count me in all the way. I hit this hard about 4-5 years ago and lost 70lbs. Vacillated around for a couple of years but over the last two I've just consistently added about 1/4lb per week (as an average). It doesn't sound much but it adds up to around 28lbs! So that has to go and then some - I should never have taken my foot off the gas all those years ago. I'd love to take it back down around 40lbs but I'd settle for 35lbs - that's half of what I achieved before so should be do-able.

The's no "one size fits all" diet - my regime, started Jan 1, is centred around a low calorie, low fat, almost non existent carb, relatively high protein diet coupled with exercise in the form of rowing and cycling. The downside right now is that I'm recovering from a heavy cold/flu which is hampering getting the exercise regime up and running.

I'm also advocating the "over 50" = photograph exemption rule!

I'm in, but no picture. I'll be turning 51 in April. Six years ago I lost 125-lbs, but I've gained 80-lbs back after my mother passed and depression set in. I'll be working with a trainer three times a week, who trained CIA, FBI, Marshal Agents and SWAT teams so she's pretty bad-ass! I bought a fit-bit to help record calorie/water intake, exercise/calories burned as well as my sleep. Sleep is very important for weight loss and I have a tendency towards insomnia. I have also adopted a puppy so she requires much energy for playing and walking. I will be using doTerra Slim and Sassy essential oil, coconut oil and Golden Paste (turmeric spice) that will help with many ailments including inflammation. I'll be focusing on whole foods, real fats (butter, avocado, coconut oil), vegetables and fruits and eliminating sugar from my diet. I'll increase my water intake to half of my weight in ounces.

Good luck everyone is your weight loss/fitness goals!

This is the kick in the pants I needed to get back to my pilates and bike riding. I also need to lose and I am going to toss the rest of the Christmas candy ! Sugar is BAD news. Thanks Peter ! I'm in. So is Bill he just doesn't know it yet!

How do you add photos here?

Nevermind. Just re-read Peters post. :)

John, send them to Peter at info@peterhurley.com - he will laugh his head off and call his family crying "you should see this!!!"

Thanks Haans. I missed that part when I first read it.

To everyone doing this, you can do it! I just sent Peter a photo of myself at my heaviest at close to 200 lbs next to another photo at 150 lbs. I'm currently 155 lbs and have maintained that for the last few years. I'm 45 and did it myself, but it's a whole lot easier to do it as a group because you'll have a support system. If you have a competitive streak, tap into it. Set goals and stop eating crap. :)

If I've learned anything over the last few years, its that it's never too late to self-improve.

Photo is forthcoming. I am in a similar boat. Crazy year, now I am up to 205lb. I long stretch from when I was a pro cyclist and 5k runner in the early 90's at a fighting weight of of 150 (although that is way too light), I would love to be able to run sub 15 minute 5k's again but that isn't happening. I needed something to kick my ass into gear for the year and I reached out to a friend at an organization that used to sponsor me and ended up getting an entry into the Big Sur Marathon in 112 days. Hmm 112 days, and I am shooting for a weight of 175 there. I have an Ironman next fall so this is the first "smallish" step there.

Well what a wake up call - I just sent my photos in. I thought 205, that seemed terrible but a way to start. 216.8 - nothing like that for a royal ass kicking mentally.

Looking forward to seeing everyone work their way into better shape.

Photo will be sent in later today, making me accountable...

Peter, your scale says 2300 that's over a ton... Man you need to lose a few ;)

I'm glad you guys are all up for it!!! I'm posting whoever is courageous enough to send me picks. For those that would like to remain clothed, send a shot of the scale! We'll get this going. I'm doing great doing these little workouts, drinking a ton of water and cut out carbs and snacks. So far so good. Hope we can all keep each other motivated!

This is awesome, glad to see so many people getting in on this. :D

A friend of mine got me into the Les Mills Body Combat classes a while back, love them as they're martial arts based so they'll keep me entertained and motivated. Just invested in the newest home DVD version of them so my goal is to get into a good rythem using them. :D

I'm in ! Need my "Gut be Gone" like yesterday. Will see about the pics.
Whatever you do people, let it become a life style and enjoy it.

I'm in. My goal is to work out 5 days a week. Just completed week 1 and starting to feel better.

I am in too! I gained too much weight since the summer off 2013, lost 5 kg's when Peter came to the Netherlands, but still need to loose at least 15 kg's, 20 would be even better, let's start right now with a healthier and fitter live !

Peter, I don´t know what´s worse - a pic of the upper "problem area" or one of naked feet on scales!!! :-)

@Jonas: quit smoking and you can buy a B1 from that cigy-money within 6 months or so!!

Wow! Most posts I have ever seen on one thread. So weight is a problem in the world. With me too. I'm in! Fighting weight is 185 and I am the most ever now at 205.....dropping 15-20...but no picture!

Me too. I want to lose ten pounds and get back to working out every day and even hoping my back can handle yoga again. Im about to turn 50 and just opened a letter from AARP. I nearly cried. So I am so happy to join in on this group weight loss.

What a difference in John's before and afters. Like two different people, especially in the face / neck.

yup, It's been a long year! Lost 25lbs from last Jan to June, but gained 15 of it back. Kickin' into gear and headed to the gym tomorrow with a friend. The Christmas cookies are gone, bring on the broccoli! :) Is this all staying here or will you create a Facebook group or whatever the kids do these days?

I want to lose weight in the new year. So is this some sort of initiation thing for the Headshot Crew? Kinda like Russian Prison Tattoos?

I'm hip.i'm fat for a reason. There is surgery for stapling a stomach, but I need to staple my mouth. Photos coming, I need to find a scale that goes high enough. Guess I'll go over to the nearest shipping depot and stand on that scale. Photos coming soon. As soon as I find a wide angle lens for an iphone I'll post some photos. I'm not allowed to go to the beach anymore because I block the sun. I have to ask for the belt extender on airplanes. I was removed from a rollover coaster because it wouldn't buckle. When I go to a fast food chain for lunch their yearly net profits go up 10 %. A competitive eater once told me to slow down. The local ice fishermen use me to test the ice. The neighborhood kids use me as a bouncy house. I have my own zip code.

Hiya! All the best in the New Year to all of you guys! I am definitely in and I have already started. My goal for 2015 was to run a half marathon this year.
Pictures are coming :D

If its not all about me, I'm not doing my job. lol

I'm in, too! I am starting the Advocare Cleanse today to kick it off. I've done it in the past. I will be training for a half marathon in April, so now is the time to start.
