Would love to come, but I'd be that person throwing up over the railing the whole trip, and not because of the booze;) Sounds incredible!!! Envious as hell.
Anita.. You and me both!
Can you take medication for sea sickness?
Check out the behind the ear patches - maximum speed of this ship translates to 25 mph which is not fast and it's a big ship with nearly 5000 passengers and crew so it's pretty darn stable. Get a room mid-ship both in terms of length and height and you minimize the stability to your own inner ear.
I am perfectly fine on the small boats. It is the bigger ones that get me. It seems to be the micro changes that are the worst for me. Too bad:(
I went on a cruise with wristbands, dramamine, prescription patches, and Bonine tablets. I get terrible seasickness! I ended up taking Bonine, one a day, no drowsiness and felt great the entire trip! I was passing them around the dinner table like candy to the other passengers. It's over the counter at your local drugstore. Never travel without them anymore!
Bonine rules.
:)
Love this idea! Can't wait to tell Bern about it!!!........We have never been on a cruise, have talked about it and this sounds fantastic!!!!
Wow this will be so much fun. Headshot crewzin for a brewzin

Just checking!
Yeah it's perfect. Thanks for the info the other day. I double checked it and it's great. It goes Sunday to Sunday that week.
I'd definitely be interested. I'll be checking all of the family calendars and seeing if we can make this happen! Killer idea!!
Certainly interested, but at $999 a head, that might be challenging with 6 of us in the family. I'm in to explore the idea. Also, might be good to look at finding a nice resort to go to within the US. I've planned a few conferences at various locations in the US and they can be affordable and offer a lot to a larger group coming into the property.
I know it's not affordable for everyone, but we are crusin.
Certainly one way to look at it.
I couldn't handle 6 people either. You've got some crew.
Wes, don't discount the idea until you see the pricing. I take my daughters on a cruise every year and while the first two of us are priced at full ride, the third person is so darn cheap and I'm sure it's cheaper when you add more in the same room. $999 is roughly $143 per person per night for the room and all you can eat which is a decent price although I hear what you are saying about resort conference pricing, too. I hope you can figure out a way to join us!
I don't do the low end on vacations. I'm not an inside room kind of guy. Did some basic research and for rooms I'd want to be in, we'd be looking at $6k+ if I want to bring along the family.
The key point I was trying to make is that if we're going for our largest "crew" to "grow this thing" then a situation where people need to set aside a week to connect and spend solid cash can be a challenge.
I love the idea of bringing the crew together, but making it reasonable to as many people as possible is the best way to grow the biggest community.
It's more for getting those of us together that haven't ever met. Maybe we'll do a Vegas thing or something another time.
I love this idea! Having just returned from my second Fstopper's Workshop in Nassau I am struck by how much value there is in spending time with creatives in a creative environment. Yes, there is partying and gambling and sailing and lots of fun stuff but along the way are side discussions, small and large, that provide nuggets of information and inspiration. Together with formal sessions, the take away is huge!
For those who are concerned about sea sickness - these ships are huge, the technology includes stabilizers and most of the time you don't even know you're at sea. I cruise a lot and see lots of people with little patches behind their ears on every vacation - medication to counter any queasiness you might feel. Don't forget that this particular cruise is docked for 3 days so for half of the cruise you aren't sailing at all.
If you've never been on a cruise, you won't believe the food! You can pretty much eat 24/7 and there is lots of choice - almost too much. I walk the track every day so that I can indulge a little! Yes, every ship has a walking/jogging track and a gym. Entertainment and activities are varied and pretty good, average April temperatures in Bermuda are mid-60's with 74% humidity so not screamin' hot and did I mention the food is amazing?
I'm psyched for this! Definitely on my schedule and excited to spend time with the Crew!
This is going to be so much fun! Fstoppers was great! I feel such a sense of camaraderie after meeting and getting to know the other Headshot Crew members.
Me too Michael. Is Jen coming along?
Yes, she we will be there
The foooooooood! More photos to put on my #thisiswhyimfat blog ha!
It all depends on when for me. Tight schedule this year
Guess who else is in????
Heck yeah! Count George and I in!
I'm in!
Sounds really cool. With the classes, will the rates be similar to previous workshops? Looks like a one-day and two-day options. Will you have space for returning student rates?
yeah and we'll be doing free classes for everyone too. I'm working on sponsorship.
Count me in!
I keep trying to comment but it isn't working.. 4th time will hopefully be the charm... I am trying to respond to Wes but it will not let me .. this is what I keep typing "Looks like the third person is half off possibly and also if you put your home state in the field there may also be a discount for that"
Definitely love this idea !
I would be up for presenting a class on shooting
Portraits with Speed Lights on a Cruise.
My Birthday is May 1, so that would work perfectly.
Craig Beckta
That would be awesome man! Cool!
Mine is on the 24th! Great way to celebrate 52!
Definitely interested. Love the idea. Will know how plausible it is when pricing becomes available. Will also have to see how much work would be involved getting my kids and I to New York.
Jen and I are in of course..!!
Wow this sounds like a great time. Will have to check our Spring Break dates to see if it works.
A trip to NY, plus a cruise with the Crew! Very cool
This sounds cool, I'll give it some thought.
Sounds great!
Brilliant idea and I would love to go! But we are already booked for a month in Arizona :-( BUT mentioned it to my hubby, and he's quite interested and his wheels started turning about we can make both trips happen ;-)
Sounds good, except my kids won't be able to make it. I may have talked Charles into it, and he hates the idea of cruises.
Oh my wife and kids are so frickin' down! Kids may be a bit too young for it still, but we'll see...sounds great!
Awesome idea, will look at dates and try to be in NYC for then, would love to join!
Great idea Peter. Having been on an NCL cruise a few years ago we had a great time, plus your workshops make this a Win - win for me and my GF. :-)
We've got over 60 people on the list now. I'll be talking to them sometime this week and try to nail some stuff down.
this sounds like a great trip, count me in!
Would love to come, but I'd probably be a late addition, as my daughter is a competitive dancer and we don't know her schedule until Dec/Jan timeframe. Keep us posted on details please! Even if we aren't on original sign up!
I added myself to the list tonight. Sounds like a great time!
