Dr. Ismail is a hospital physician who recently came to me for updated headshots in his lab coat and scrubs for a new position he is accepting. The light background was used to match other headshots on the hospital website. I used a rectangular softbox on a Paul C Buff Einstein light on camera-left that I angled and positioned so that it feathered the light. A smaller, 24" square softbox was used on a speedlight (Nikon SB-700) on camera-right to help fill in that side of the face. A third light with a stripbox was used behind the subject on camera-right for a soft rim light. A fourth light was used to light the background. Finally, I used a Wescott Eyelighter below the subject's chest to fill light in under his chin. I edited this image in Lightroom and Photoshop.

nice shot.
Peter teaches a couple of very specific light patterns that are very flattering. If you want to learn his style, there is a free course that gives a good intro (to see what he does)

Thank you. Disappointed I missed the judging; I didn't see the email about it and thought it might be today.
