IS THERE ANYTHING YOU'D LIKE TO OPEN WITH?

Hey mates! It's an honor to share here with my Crew. I present this work as aspects of an evolving body, not
as a cohesive portfolio-style collection. Warning: Some of my answers have some kind of bad pun or sound like copywriting. Why am I like this? We may never know. Thank you, Dalton, Master Jedi, Crew family.

WHERE ARE YOU FROM AND WHERE DO YOU LIVE NOW?

I'm an American, an east coast girl. After working, playing, and studying in and around Boston, I began
moving north and south. I'm now in a dreamy North Carolina beach town.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN SHOOTING HEADSHOTS?

In Spring 2017, I bought my first little DSLR camera and joined Headshot Crew. I challenged myself to
become an Associate before the end of the year and I succeeded, thanks to badass coaching, awesome support, and a bat-out-of-hell mindset.

I went on shooting only who I wanted to shoot for about a year. Honoring my instincts, I began accepting clients only when I had become the kind of photographer that I myself would hire. Been shooting headshots ever since.

WHEN DID YOU FIRST DISCOVER PH AND HSC? HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO JOIN THE CREW ONCE YOU FOUND IT?

I was told by a near-perfect stranger that I would love a photographer named Peter Hurley. I promptly typed his name, saw his work, saw him, saw that he coached, saw that he was accepting new students, and saw a free-trial offer. There was zero hesitation. When the student is ready, the teacher appears. Mine was Master Jedi Hurley in all his glory.

WHAT ELSE DO YOU LIKE TO SHOOT?

I was all ready to make a joke about an old roller skating move called shoot the duck. Incidentally, there's a
parallel. Just as shooting the duck was the only roller skating move I ever mastered, it's headshots for me every time. With some rad exceptions, it seems roller skaters have all but gone the way of the buffalo. True to form, though, I’m still a one-trick pony.

WHAT IS YOUR LIGHTING SETUP FOR HEADSHOTS?

Something else that hasn’t changed much since the 80s is my love for an extreme feather. My three Flex
panels can usually be found facing each other in some kind of triangle-ish formation. It looks like an orb of light in there. It's been over a year since I won these puppies at Headshot Mania 2 in Las Vegas, but we're still in the honeymoon phase. I'd tell you more, but what happens in Vegas...

TELL US ABOUT YOUR STUDIO. DO YOU OWN IT? RENT IT? LIVE IN IT?

Don't mind if I do. It's a ground-floor home studio, minimalist in terms of decor and more like a studio than a
home. I chose a luxury apartment community a few miles from my favorite beach. The concrete floors stay cool, so I gift my clients white terrycloth spa slippers. It feels like a vacation. I encourage them not to hurry over for my sake if they find themselves running a little late.

WHAT IS ONE THING PEOPLE WOULD NEVER GUESS ABOUT YOU?

I will stop, drop, and roll to avoid having my picture taken by pretty much anyone other than myself. I will run
into a burning building if it’s a wide-angle. Once every ten thousand self-portraits, I find one that sparks joy. It's been a little while now.

WHAT IS ONE THING YOU WISH PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT YOU?

I hold many of you close to my heart and think of you warmly, gratefully. Your big dreams are beautiful to
me, your victories, your families, your lives.
It may be true that I’m a loner, an outsider, a stray, but there’s no doubt I’m out here cheering for you.
