HSC REFERRALS
Hey all,
Just wanted to jump in really quickly to let you know that in case you were wondering...Headshot Crew will and does get you referrals. As you know, I am not near as active in this community as I should or would like to be. My portfolio is WILDLY out of date.
However, the SEO on HC is so bananas that I routinely get referrals from my profile here. This week I received four referrals through HC the last of which was from a regional manager with the United States Postal Service inquiring about headshots for her team and then possibly the over 8000 postal service workers in the state.
Unfortunately, the deal didn't work out due to outrageous budget constraints and timing but I already booked two of the other referrals.
So if you are on the fence on whether or not HC is worth it...it's worth having a profile simply for the referrals. You know, there is also that whole learning from the master and having access to the largest and friendliest community of photography peers on the planet. That's cool too.

Yes to all of that. I'd say about 70% of my headshot clients find me through here.

In the last 9 days I have booked 8 sessions. Six of them as a direct result of this site. Two of them from FB, but they came to this site to see my work. One of them is for 15-20 staff members for a Dr.
Four of them are actors/models. Which has been a first for me. I usually shoot Linkedin shots, business professionals etc.
So yes, no fence riding! Jump in full force, I can not tell you how much my life has changed since I have made Associate. Since I have so much more to learn, the best is yet to come!
That's great news, John! I'm wondering what's different for you (and others who have commented). I actually have never gotten a referral from HSC :/ Doesn't mean I don't get value from the team and community. I'm wondering if there's some setting or something that I'm missing?

I wonder too. I know that when you google "headshot photographer Little Rock" my Headshot Crew profile is the first return. I know my market is small but I know others are getting similar results in larger markets.
