WHERE ARE YOU FROM AND WHERE DO YOU LIVE NOW?

I was born in the suburbs of Dallas, TX. I still reside in the area in the North Dallas region but have given a great amount of thought to relocating to Colorado.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN SHOOTING HEADSHOTS?

I started shooting headshots in 2017. When I opened my company, headshots were the specialized area that I began studying.

WHAT IS YOUR LIGHTING SETUP FOR HEADSHOTS?

My standard go-to is the triangle setup with two 1x3 softboxes and one 1x2, but I am always experimenting with light to find new ways that feel right for me and the feeling I want to convey with various subjects.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR STUDIO. DO YOU OWN IT? RENT IT? OR LIVE IN IT?

I do all my one-on-one sessions out of my home studio. If I am working with a company, I will go on location to create their portraits for them. I used to have a great deal of head trash about working out of my home, but I learned that the space isn’t as important as the level of service that I provide.

WHAT ELSE DO YOU LIKE TO SHOOT?

I am a portrait photographer first and foremost. I love working with people and creating images that help them to see themselves as worthy of being documented no matter what their outward appearance looks like. My work tends to revolve around three key things, support of the LGBTQ community, body acceptance at every size, mental health, and kicking all that head trash to the curb around not being photogenic.

WHEN DID YOU FIRST DISCOVER PH AND THE HSC?

When I decided to go from hobbyist to professional and open a business, I knew that headshots were going to be a big part of that. I also knew that if I wanted to be successful, I needed to study under the best. I looked up headshot photographers and Peter was the first to come up in my search. I got to looking into who he is and through that found HSC. It took me about 10 minutes on the HSC website to make the decision to study under Peter.

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO JOIN THE CREW ONCE YOU FOUND IT?

It was a pretty quick decision for me. I really was on the website for about 10 minutes before I decided that it was where I needed to be if I wanted to become an industry leader for my market and not a follower.

WHAT IS ONE THING PEOPLE WOULD NEVER GUESS ABOUT YOU?

When most people used to first meet me they would assume I was this quiet reserved person. In actuality, I am very outgoing and boisterous. Aside from that, I am pretty much an open book. I talk very openly and frankly about the causes that I am an advocate for and wear my heart on my sleeve.

WHAT IS ONE THING YOU WISH PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT YOU?

That I am Batman. Some would say that isn’t true, but if you think about it have you ever seen both of us at the same place at the same time? Exactly! (But seriously people don’t always seem to realize what a cut-up I am. We should be having fun in life and in what we do for work.)
