I struggled for a long time to find happiness with myself. I hated the way I looked. I picked apart every perceived flaw like it was an Olympic sport. It didn't matter what the scale said, or what people told me when they tried to be supportive. I wasn't in a place to believe it.
Does this sound like you? I get it, being happy with our own looks is one of the hardest things to do. We are our biggest enemy when it comes to finding issues with how we look. Have you ever said to someone, "I am not photogenic!" Here's the thing, being photogenic isn't about your physical appearance. It's about the confidence you have in yourself that makes you photogenic. Helping you find that inner confidence is something that I will guide you to.
As a body and gender affirming portrait photographer my goal is to have you get to a place of neutrality when it comes to thoughts about your body and self. You don't have to always love yourself, but you should at least be able to appreciate the body you have and all that it allows for you to do. There is so much garbage out there that tells you how you are supposed to look to be beautiful and acceptable. It's all nonsense trying to sell you on diet culture or outlandish beauty standards. My approach is all about working with you to identify all that head trash and learn to let it go, so that when you look at yourself in your portraits or in the mirror you don't cringe, but appreciate the person you are.
