We'll be hosting David Grover from PhaseONE on Thursday Oct 19th during the open mic at 4pm Eastern. Bruno thought it would be great to have some questions for him to answer about CaptureONE. He's been featured on Creative LIVE and it's pretty cool for him to give us his time. Have to thank Bruno for setting this up for us as well.

For your workflow, I strongly 100% believe capturing to a Session is going to be 100 times easier, faster, slicker, more enjoyable than attempting to do it in a Lightroom Catalog or Capture One Catalog. The flow is so much simpler, export faster, organisation and tagging faster too. It's design is really the ultimate dream for a Headshot photographer!
I am here to help, so please don't feel overwhelmed. Learning any new software is tricky, we can guide you through the process. ;)
HEADSHOT SESSION TEMPLATE
I haven't tried sharing one of these before, but I *think* it should work. This MAC only at the moment, but I can knock one out for PC users as well.
Once the template is installed (more on that in a second) Choose, File>New Session and pick the template. (See Screenshot attached)
This will..
- Make you a new Session with 11 folders. 1 for light test and 10 for sitters. They are already added to Session Favourites and Light Test is the first Capture Folder.
- Naming is setup in the format of [DATE]_[SESSION NAME]_[COLLECTION NAME}_[4 DIGIT COUNTER]
1) To change capture folder, RIGHT-Click on Sitter 1 and choose "Set as Capture Folder"
2) The File naming will update automatically. Reset the Capture Counter if you want. (EDIT>Counters)
TO INSTALL THE TEMPLATE
1) Go to your Finder
2) Hold down the ALT key and choose GO in the top menu bar.
3) Choose Library
4) Go to..
Application Support>Capture One>Templates
*If there is no template folder there, make one called Templates. Make sure it is capital T!
Restart Capture One.
Go go Go

Oh and to rename Sitter 1 to something more useful, just right click on it and choose RENAME (within capture one)
The link above takes us to the October 12th Open Mic ... it either needs a correction or there's a delay for replays and I need to be more patient.
Joe? Anybody reading these comments? The link up top still leads to the October 12th session, not the October 19th session with David Grover. Sure would appreciate it being linked properly so we can watch the replay.

A question for David Grover. Since a day or two I have troubles with shooting tethered. C1 isn't able to connect my camera anymore. I connected, disconnected, checked if I ran all my updates, even threw off C1 and installed it again. Strange enough it is working on my iMac, comming up week I've 4 days of tethered shooting on location and I need my Macbook. But it is refusing to connect my Sony A6300. Never had a problem before! What can I do to get it to connect and work again?
I am using C1 pro for Sony.
