About mahvash

Mahvash fell in love with photography when her father gave her a camera for her fifteenth birthday. Her great eye for subjects of all kinds--people, places and beautiful objects came naturally. Now, with over twenty years of experience, Mahvash brings her unique, sensitive approach to every subject, style and mood. Her intense dedication to excellence comes through in everything she does.
In portraiture, or family photography, Mahvash is wonderfully talented at making people look natural, because she makes sure they feel comfortable and relaxed. Mahvash is a Kodak International award-winning photographer with a M.F.A. in photography from Brooklyn College.
Editorial and Commercial clients include: AON Risk Services of New York, Lucie Awards with Pilsner Beer, American Liver Foundation, Architecture and Urban Design, Global Wu Communications, Ltd., NYU Medical Center, Joint Disease Hospital, Maimonides Cancer Center, City Guide Magazine New York, Vella International, Masca Fashion, Silken Antique Jewelry Design, Chester Higgins of The New York Times, Larry Barnes of Business Week, and The New Brunswick Reporter, NJ.
Mahvash writes:
"Photography is more than a job for me. Photography is the tool that I use as an artist. The creative process of photography brings me joy. It's exciting for me when I am able to capture moments of happiness, laughter, romance, and tenderness. I love documenting these moments that will preserve unforgettable memories for people. Whether I'm photographing a 2 years old baby, an expectant mother, wedding, a family portrait, an executive headshot, or any event, I document the unfolding of the event or day with an artistic eye that doesn't miss anything. My approach is personalized for each situation. For a wedding I spend time with the couple and family prior to the event to understand their feelings and wishes, so that I can better fulfill their unique vision of how the day will go. I am so proud and happy when my clients have tears in their eyes when they see the resulting images."
