My narrative:
"Who remembers the viral ad from 22 years ago - the one where a little boy is followed everywhere by a pug?
The Hutch Network campaign that said, “Wherever you go, our network follows.”
Last month, I had the chance to photograph the man who helped bring that campaign to life.
Sandip Das, approved the ad that went on to become part of our cultural memory.
Before we began shooting, his shirts were pressed, shoes arranged and spaces to shoot in mapped out.
It reminded me how preparation itself can be an act of respect for the craft and for the person behind the camera.
That’s when I asked him one of my fav questions - What is something Google doesn’t know about you?
And he told me about the pug campaign.
How the idea came from a simple observation. The bond between a boy and his dog, inseparable, and loyal.
He loved how something so ordinary could become so unforgettable.
I was grateful to Sandip for opening his home and his story so generously.
