I’m fascinated by faces. When I was a kid, I was always doodling with pencil and paper, and my sketches were mostly of the human face. When I became an art student in high school and beyond, I nearly always chose to draw faces or incorporate portraits into any project I was working on.

I shoot material other than portraits but what I’m hired for often, involves photographing people. And photographing the face is more than "just" shooting a head shot; doing it well and with intention is a craft all its own. Add to that, a particular professional, lifestyle, or fashion emphasis, and the need for intention and expertise is all the greater.
