I started shooting in 2001, assisting and second-shooting a local photographer in my home town. I went to the International Academy of Design and Technology in Tampa, Florida where I graduated with an Associates degree in Professional Photography. From there, I went on to get a Bachelor's in Fine Art from Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee. All the while, building my business and figuring out my path.
In 2010, I moved to Key West, Florida (I'm a native Floridian anyway!) and relocated my wedding business there. Since then I have specialized primarily in destination weddings and portraits. In 2015 I got my own office, sharing with another business, and started getting requests for headshots. Outgrowing my "desk and wall" in another person's space, in Fall 2016 I moved into my own studio, an 18 x 15' space in a historic building downtown, with a West-facing window at one end, and a door that opens to a beautiful fountain-adorned courtyard at the other. I went from shooting "a few headshots here and there" to now it being an official service of my business. I joined the Chamber of Commerce and regularly connect with business owners and "suit and tie" people, and am enjoying every minute.
