I studied Fine Arts at Cleveland Institute of Art, before serving as a US Navy Photographers Mate in Sigonella, Sicily, with specialty in Photo Journalism and Multimedia Productions.
After receiving a BSBA in Business Administration and then a J.D., I worked for many years until I was totally burnt out. I finally walked away and returned to my passion of photography. I found great joy in shooting action sports with a personal twist...showing action and movement yet showing the personality of the athlete. I have successfully transferred these skills into creating successful marketing images for my Business, Family and Senior Portrait clients.
I have won multiple awards for my work: SEP (PPA) Magazine Cover winner 2012, (2011 2nd Place), Rangefinder Magazine Back To School, Senior Portraits, 2013 First Place, MIFA 2016 Honorable Mention. Los Angeles County Fair 2nd Place 2017.
The constant in my work is the feedback of my clients- my ability to communicate and pull out of my their personality, their inner self and to put them at ease. They may come in complaining they hate being in front of the camera or believe the have never or could never have a beautiful portrait taken of themselves...or can't smile naturally. I say...let's just take a breath and let's have fun...the images will happen before you know it... and so far..it has!
