Photography is my lifelong learning vocation. I started when I was about 12 with my first 35mm camera back in the film days. My favorite photographic subjects have always been people.

One of my joys in life is taking portraits of people. I have a complete studio in the barn behind our 1910 completely restored farmhouse in the country near the southern suburbs of Dayton. Don't worry, the studio is a finished part of the barn, not in the rougher side of the barn with the hay and horses.

Photographing people there is always something new to learn. How boring would it be to think you know it all? But, I do run into photographers who get "stuck" like that. Learning from Peter Hurley is fun and and is challenging me to continue my lifelong learning project in photographing people.

Along with my studio portraits and headshots, I do on-location senior portraits, business portraits, people with their horses (equine Photography), some families, models and equine events. The equine photography is fun because believe it or not, horses have expressions too. The challenge of getting a person and the horse to have great expression at the same time is great fun. My interest in horses comes from my wife and her competitive activities with horses. We have two horses on the property.
