Jo was born in 1986 in rural Germany. Growing up with his fathers slides and an old Canon A1 he developed an interest for photography early on. After finishing High School in 2006 in Bochum he worked in a retirement home as part of the German social service before he moved to the Philippines (Cebu) to work as a photo assistant and location scout for Fashion TV Asia in 2008.
He quickly worked his way up to a photographers position and eventually flew out to Los Angeles for a film production company. While establishing bases both in the US and Europe and opening a German portrait studio line in London in the meantime, Jo finally settled down in Los Angeles in 2011. Since then he has worked with many different clients, including international fashion designers, actors and musicians.

His photography is versatile and doesn’t compromise, his specialties are character portraits and head shots with a soulful touch. A growing interest in good deeds and Karma resulted in various “Social Art” projects all around the globe starting with a retirement home in Germany in 2011 and including homeless shelters and Human Rights organisations worldwide. Jo’s work has also been showcased on Vogue Italia and he has worked with major modelling agencies such as FORD, WILHELMINA, LA MODELS in the US and Brigitte, Model-Pool and KR-Models in Germany.

Jo thinks versatility is a plus in a photographer and is open to many kinds of projects. Areas of experience include Events and Weddings, Fashion Editorials and Catalogs, Portraits, Food, Landscapes, Behind the scenes and Fine Art. He doesn’t mind a week long hike to get to a location and he likes spicy and exotic food. His passport is ready to take on the world.

In 2014 Jo can be found back at his roots in Germany once again. He is currently available for work in NRW and the north of Germany. International assignments are always welcome as well.
