Capture One PRO 8 is 20% off until the Lucie Awards PEOPLE!

I'm totally psyched to be a presenter at the Lucie Awards this year which will take place at Carnegie Hall.  Phase One is celebrating the event by giving 20% off Capture One PRO 8!

The discount is available from now until the awards show on November 2nd, so grab a copy when you can. I started using Capture One 7 a few months ago and couldn't be more fired up about this upgrade. The sucker is infinitely faster and my workflow has sped up immensely. Definitely worth firing it up for yourself.

Thanks a lot. I LOVE CaptureOne Pro 8!

I'm on the fence here, I got annual subscription with Adobe CC and I'm using Lr instead.
I've searched for comparison videos between Capture One and Lightroom, the major differences I noticed so far are the following:
- Faster tethering
- Higher contrast and sharpness of RAW files displayed
I'm not that expert in this but does that reflect on the printing of the photo? I mean one software might display the image more correctly than the other on the screen but both softwares preserve the same file information needed for correct printing, right? (given that both screen & printer are calibrated)
I also wonder if I bought the license of CaptureOne 8, am I entitled to get unlimited upgrades for future versions? (Adobe does that in CC)

There's no standard on how to interpret the RAW files coming from a camera, so Capture One will render the files differently than Lightroom. Therefore it will also produce different prints. I find that Capture produces the best colors out of all RAW converters though, and I prefer it over Lightroom. It's perfect for tethering because it's basically built for studio photographers. Just download it and try it out for free. You get a 60day trial period that's not limited in any way.

I don't know about the upgrades.

If it involves the experience my prospect clients will have with me, I'll eventually choose whatever works best, if it will take owning capture one software, then so be it!
Thanks Kevin!

Fadi I was on the fence too, but now working with big files C1p8 really beats LR by far.
Very fast processing, tethering is great, I just did a photoshoot last week for 2 days and the client was blown away because we were able to see and select everything on the set.
I'm still getting used to it, specially managing collections. One of the amazing things it has is that you just double click a session or collection and even if its on an external hard drive it loads like a breeze, and I have old MACs running it.

I've already downloaded the trial version the interface is a bit different but can be learned. I remember the shoot I did last year with my friends and I remember Lr sucked that day. I'm serious about this work therefore I'm going to get it just to make sure I deliver good experience. Thanks, Paco!

You can pay monthly too, just like with adobe. :)

So I decided to jump off the fence and purchase Capture One before the discount expired. When I tried to checkout they require you to register as a new user I get the error "cannot create profile". I did send a contact message regarding my problem but not sure if I will get an answer in time to take advantage of discount. Did anyone else encounter a problem like this?

Did anyone have success with using the code with an upgrade? I'm getting an invalid code error.

Laurie, try it with another browser. And are you sure you're not already registered?

I tried in Firefox, Chrome and Android Chrome.... same result. I'm sure I don't have an account but gave it a shot - sent request to reset my password.... followed link from email, entered new password AND got a message that I had entered a wrong old password. Craziness - It was a password reset - I didn't know my old password - think they have some bugs in their site.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Capture One customer support was awesome. They got the account problem sorted out and honored the 20% off! Now the learning curve but very excited about the speed of processing and stability of tethering :)

You will love it Laurie.
