TetherTools Veteran's Day Project
Hey guys! So TetherTools asked me to team up with them to do something nice for Veteran's Day.
They want to put together a group of portraits of Veterans and I guess we'd launch a gallery of them for Veteran's day this year. We would donate the shots to the Veteran's and their families.
I'd like PH2PRO photographers to go for it and submit images to Amber at TetherTools. amccoy@tethertools.com
If you have connections to Veteran's or a group of them let us all know and maybe we can do an event and have some fun with it.
Let me know what you guys think. Thanks, Peter
Project Details:
Donate a day of your time photographing a Veteran(s) for a portrait, or a family(ies) portrait session(s).
Provide a finished image to the individuals. If you want to provide a finished 'printed' image - that is up to you. I would love to see photographers donate printed images as well, but this is totally your call.
Capture behind the scenes. The idea for doing this came from tethering on-location, allowing these families to immediately see their photos. I'd love to see BTS images of the tethering setups, interaction with the Veterans and any other images you can provide.
Blog featuring you. Once images are completed, please submit your behind the scenes & final images to me to be featured on our Special Edition: Better When You Tether (3 month series of articles featuring pro photographers of all types, their setups & inspiration). You all will be highlighted the week before Veteran's Day because you have donated your time photographing Veterans for Veteran's Day.
I would like to have everything in by OCT 30. That will give me enough time to put everything in our blog format, make sure everything is linked properly, and also make sure I have enough time in case something is missed, and need to get ahold of you for something.
Now I do realize this is about 2 weeks prior to Veteran's Day. But I do want to also put a call to action in your blog posts asking other photographers to go out, donate some time to a Veteran or their family, and do a good deed.
Also, if you don't already have tethering gear. I suggest looking into this kit. It really has everything you will need to go on location for this type of shoot. The Pro Tether Kit.
So with that, let me know if you have any questions. Again, I am excited to work with you both as well as Peter on getting this together.
Best,
Amber

Great idea! Do they just want U.S. vets for this particular project or from other countries too? What a great idea for a personal project. I might steal it.
Good point Anita. It's a US national holiday, so I'm guessing they were thinking about Americans.
This sounds really cool! Any parameters? I'm in!
count me in!
Basically, just find some Vet's to shoot and get some amazing shots of them. I'm sure Amber will come up with something cool to do with them and hope to put a smile on some Veteran's faces.
I just shot my first group of vets today. I put a couple up in the critique section.
