It's OK to start with strip boxes (post/share your strip box setup here)

Let's see your setup!!!

If you can get a flex kit.... then get a flex kit.
You can easily see all of the beautiful work made with that lighting system right here in the crew.

But, if you can't get one yet...
staying within the Westcott ecosystem,
you have many options to create a triangle setup like Peter.

Best start is to get strip boxes:

2 - Rapid Box Switch 1x3 https://www.fjwestcott.com/products/rapid-box-swi…
1 - Rapid Box Switch 1x2 https://www.fjwestcott.com/products/rapid-box-swi…

That's three strip boxes.
You need three lights to go in to them.
Best to have all three be the same (not necessary, but will make your life easier)
Westcott has different lights to choose, all that will work with the Rapid Box Switch softboxes:

L60-B Bi-Color COB LED (60W)

L120-B Bi-Color COB LED (120W)

Hi Scott, I love this post. I have a 3 FJ400 setup with two 1x3 trips and one 1x2 strip for the bottom. It is working well, but I have had a hard time getting to the sweet spot. I took the Headshot Intensive a couple weeks ago in Boston. It was awesome. Very helpful to be there in person with Peter and some of the associates. I have been working on my light setup. The attached five shots are all from last night and this morning. All with the triangle light setup. I'm wondering how these are starting to look with that setup. (I know I should be doing the Key Fill Kick for me... but I wanted to test this triangle and dial it in more.). Would love some thoughts on the lighting if you don't mind. Thanks so much. -Ed

Happy you figured out a triangle.
Looks good. Maybe a bit ahead of convergence.
If you want CC, it might be more effective to make a separate post.

Curious what setup other have....?

For those of us on a serious budget, there is another option:

Westcott 1X3: 189.90 or Glow EZ Lock: 88.00
Westcott 1X2: 99.90 or Glow EX Lock: 69.00

Awesome. Thank you.
If you have any photos, even quick mobile device BTS pics... anything to help encourage people and show them what is possible...

Here's an impromptu setup of the triangle in my entry w/ the Flashpoint XPLOR 300 Pros and EZ Lock strip boxes.

I opted for COB lights over the LED panels since I have them for double duty as use video lights.

For the softboxes, I notice how so many here have the 1x2 at the bottom. Is it problematic to use a 1x3 in that position? I get that the smaller one makes the setup a bit tighter, but wondering if anyone has experience with the 1x3 instead?

yes. People have used the 1x3 on the botton. The lights will overlap.
Share you setup when you can.

(LED panels were designed for cinema/film/video crews originally. They are great interview lights)

Will do, Scott. I got the COB lights for more power as I use them for live music and sometimes need to set them at the back of the room further from the stage. I was not convinced the panels would have enough power when I moved them back. I've had a challenge finding a 1x2 softbox whereas the 1x3 are much more common.
