Who's in the Crew? - Spotlight on Pam Stukenborg

NAME: Pam Stukenborg - https://headshotcrew.com/stukephoto

WHERE DO YOU LIVE? Tulsa, OK

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN SHOOTING HEADSHOTS? 7 Years

WHAT ELSE DO YOU LIKE TO SHOOT? Models, Pets, and products

WHAT IS YOUR LIGHTING SETUP FOR HEADSHOTS? 3 Promaster Unplugged TTL600 Studio (wireless-no cords) Lights, 2ea. 1’x 3’ and 1ea. 1’x3’ Wescott Rapid softboxes.

TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT THE SPACE YOU SHOOT IN?  I have two spaces. The one I own is in our home. I call it my “Studio Suite” which is a 16’x17’ space with an attached bathroom (and access to Bern’s closet in case a client needs a man’s suit coat or shirt–it’s happened). The other studio is called www.myphotostudio.org, and is a membership-based space. It is 6000 sq. ft., photography and video space with a cyc wall, multiple shooting areas, complete with studio lighting, softboxes, chairs, couches, green screen, and a consultation room. It’s a sweet setup and great for large groups!

WHEN DID YOU FIRST DISCOVER PH AND THE HSC? I saw a Scott Kelby Google+ Keynote, he had this photographer speaking that wasn’t like watching paint dry listening to him talk about photography, something called Headshots? It was Peter, he was so fun, passionate, and had this hilarious video out about the jawline with a character name Karaminder! I met Peter on February 14, 2013. Later as Bern and I had brunch we both agreed there is really something special here that Peter is doing, and we need to pay attention!

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO JOIN THE CREW AFTER YOU FOUND IT? On March 15, 2014, I joined!

WHAT IS ONE THING ABOUT YOU PEOPLE WOULD NEVER GUESS? I love to knit. The stitches are extremely consistent...I don’t settle for less than perfection. However, if you handed me a pattern book and said knit this, forget it. The instructions on the page of circle over, under, go around, double, pearl something here or there, the words just bounce off my forehead. Unless it is something I am making up in my head from scratch, looking at and I can just figure it out, or a simple project well, that’s fun–I can do that. Did I mention it needs to be cold out?

WHAT IS ONE THING YOU WISH PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT YOU?  From the time I wake up every day I am on a quest for how this day can be fun? How can I add value to those I live with and come in contact with–regardless of what is ahead of me? Not every day is easy, trouble-free, or without grief, but it is interesting and most often what we set our sights on and work towards there’s a good chance we will find it!
