WHERE DO YOU LIVE? Perth, Western Australia. We are known for our beautiful coastline, Quokkas, and being one of the most isolated cities in the world.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN SHOOTING HEADSHOTS? I would say I started in late 2014, after the headshot intensive in NYC. I was a member of the crew and with all the excitement watching Peter talk headshots and critiquing work each week, that when I saw there was one seat left for the headshot intensive that year, I took it. I went to school for photography when I was working full time in Boston. When I finished school I decided to move back to Australia to figure out my next move. Moving a lot and trying to run a business was tough. I was photographing families and beauty shoots. When I came across Peter's work it hit me that I would much rather be photographing adults and coming from a corporate background, I really liked it. The intensive just made me realize that I could photograph this genre as my main business. The intensive was such a great experience. I truly mean it when I say Peter is seriously genuine and giving of his time and knowledge and he is bloody funny! We had a great crew at the intensive and I enjoyed hanging out with everyone. I'm laughing thinking back at that time spent there - I can't rave about it enough! I think I need a refresher actually - just to hang out again!



WHAT ELSE DO YOU LIKE TO SHOOT? I love shooting beauty and also travel photography including landscapes. Beauty is for pay but I would love to move to monetize my landscape images. I have joined the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photography) and I have won gold for several of my images so in a best-case scenario I would split my business in two.



WHAT’S YOUR LIGHTING SETUP FOR HEADSHOTS? It's a 2 light Elinchrome set up with a foam core to one side so sometimes I light directly otherwise I bounce slightly off the foam core. It works for me in my small studio space and whilst I love Peter's set up, I'm not doing the volume of work for me to make the move to the flexkit and with the AUD vs USD, it would be quite an expensive set up for me - although if I actually stick to staying in one place I can see myself making the move.

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO JOIN THE CREW AFTER YOU FOUND IT? I'm a long time member, I joined in 2014 and came to the intensive in NYC, July 2014.

WHAT IS ONE THING PEOPLE WOULD NEVER GUESS ABOUT YOU? I would say it's that I am a US Citizen. I won the green card lottery and jumped from Australia to Boston in February 2007 I have since moved back to Australia. I had all intentions of moving back to the US, but I am currently happy here for the time being.

WHAT'S ONE THING YOU WISH PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT YOU? I have itchy feet. Well most people that know me well know this. I can't sit still so I move quite often, or if I don't move then I'm traveling. I've lived in Perth, Melbourne, Boston, Austin, and NYC so it's nearly time to pick a new city, but I'm currently happy living in Perth where I can go to the beach daily (if anyone wants beach images @trayc on IG shows my beach images on my personal account, mainly on my insta story). If you haven't seen a Perth beach, we have some of the best coastlines in the world.
