About Mark

Greetings everyone! I am a portrait photographer based in Katy, Texas (just west of Houston, TX). I have loved cameras for years, doing photography strictly as a hobby until a life changing event made it possible for me to transform my hobby into a full time job. I graduated college with a bachelors in business. It is crazy how life changes and now I am using that degree in my business every day. I have extended my knowledge in photography by attending Rice University, as well as several Houston Center of Photography courses. I love learning as much as I can about photography.

People are so interesting to me and I truly enjoy photographing them. There is nothing better than to show an image from a session to the client, and seeing their eyes light up with delight. I love the challenge of capturing the real person. That may be a staged shot, where I direct them into a great image. It could also be a totally spontaneous action I capture that really shows the true person in front of my camera. I love to experiment in the studio to create custom looks for each client. There is nothing better than a satisfied client, which is what my goal is every day.

I specialize in headshots and portraits. I also work with models to help expand their portfolio with images of portraits, fashion, and beauty. Models can be a challenge, but the real rewards are making non-models feel like they are models. The real rewards are from making a person feel comfortable in front of my camera with that massive lens. The camera is so intimidating to people. Being able to break down those walls and make them trust my direction, all while feeling great about the images being produced, is amazing. I also really enjoy breaking out my trusty 35mm film camera if there is time. I love the classic feel it gives an image, no matter if in color or black and white.

Thank you for dropping by and if there are any questions, I would be more than happy to answer them! Feel free to send me an email!
