This is a homecoming for Morgan. Her first job while attending Port Neches-Groves High School and Lamar University was as a photographer at Leo Weeks Photographers. Much of what she knows about photography she learned from Ruth Ellen, Leo’s daughter.
Morgan received a bachelor’s degree in General Business from Lamar. During that time, she studied under Keith Carter, a world-renowned black-and-white photographer. She went on to earn a master’s degree in Educational Administration in 2018.
After leaving Leo Weeks, Morgan worked as a photojournalist for the Port Arthur News and spent most Friday nights at the football field and weekdays scouring the area for community features. For the past six years, Morgan has worked as a schoolteacher in Port Arthur and Port Neches ISDs for children aged 8 to high school.
The Southeast Texas native never lost her love for photography and her commitment to the photography studio on Port Neches Avenue. In spring 2019, she bought the business and is now the main photographer.
