About Jules

I always enjoyed art; yet in high school, I shied away from art class as I found those who took and taught it were not very pragmatic. The teacher I felt was emotionally dead and somehow she took the fun out of artwork. On my own time, I actively drew and drew. My preference was to read and practice on the subject instead. I spent countless hours in my basement drawing and painting.

When I got to post secondary, I decided to play it safe and I took marketing. I had the gift of gab and I would make a career as a marketer or a sales person. During and post graduation, in my spare time I continued painting, illustrating and working with new mediums. Eventually my career took me from sales to marketing and graphic design.

Fast forward into the late 90s and I was now starting to play with digital scanners, cameras, Adobe applications, graphic design and colour printers. I was beginning to establish myself as a painter, yet after the 2008 stock market crash, everything changed.

That year with a very important art showing planned, no one bought anything. Everyone was scared to buy. After the event, I decided to rethink everything. Painting was not profitable. I noticed graphic design and photography was everywhere, so I decided to focus my efforts on that.

Today I photograph merchandise and people. I integrate art and marketing theory to produce a better and relevant photography product. Business is going well as I focus on delivering great value; that is to say, I reward myself with money by giving my customers a great product.
