About Wendy M.

"What the eye sees.....the heart feels."
I am a Family Physician with a thriving practice. However, my heart & soul belong to photography. I started out in the art world with a degree in Graphic Design, intending on including photography as a major part of my art. When I was in high school and college during "the film days," I had my own black & white darkroom. After college I took a too-long hiatus as I waded my way through the medical world in search of my dream job. Who knew that eventually photography would draw me back in, back to where I started!
On my way, I made the decision to go digital and will never look back! I had to relearn everthing I knew about f-stops, apertures, shutter speeds, and lenses, in addition to the new digital technology and the amazing world of Photoshop. After 4 years, I am still learning. Now, I photograph anything that catches my eye, but my real loves include headshots, candid portraits, landscapes, architecture and cemeteries. Infrared photography has become an obsession and I have a camera that has been converted just for this purpose. The light is magical! I shoot exclusively Nikon right now.
My photography consists of Fine Art, Custom Fine Art, Infrared Photography, Headshots, Candid/Playtime Portraits, Studio Portraits and Event Photography. I shoot for drama, emotion and tension in my photographs, hence my tag line, "What the eye sees, the heart feels." My images typically have a lot of contrast. I shoot in color, but a lot of images are converted to black and white or monotone if the picture calls for it. I strive my hardest to turn every shot into a work of art, no matter what the subject is. I have recently become interested in head shots and am working on increasing my knowledge and body of work in this area.
Please enjoy my images!
