I bought my first camera when I was in high school photography class and learned the basics of photography and creating images with a camera and darkroom.
I was intrigued by the power of the photograph to move us as human beings. In an emergency like a house fire or flood people fleeing their homes grab their photographs, so their value in our lives is significant. I wanted to understand why.
My continuing journey in photography is seeking to understand the power in a photograph and to create images with the power to make us feel.
While I love to photograph many different subjects, I found my strongest personal connection with headshots & portraits. Perhaps this is because my father passed away when he was only thirty-six years old and the only image of his face I can hold in my memory now is from a family portrait that was taken shortly before he died.
A great photograph is almost magical in what it can do for us. It is my passion to capture a drop of that magic for you to take home.
