My main roles are as the owner of a convenience store in rural VT and as a state representative. I got my start in photography after several photographers asked me to pose for them after seeing post weight loss/fitness journey pics on my IG. I did that for a couple years-27 shoots so not a pro by any means- then had multiple ortho surgeries, lost the six pack and chest so I decided to try photography. I did shoots for a year before having another surgery that put me out for 6 months. Bild 2025 is the first time I touched my camera since Nov '24. 99% of the time I shoot strobes so the natural light experience and forcing myself to use manual was a good experience. Due to my other responsibilities, photography hasn't been my #1 priority but my goal is to in time transition it into a more regular paying gig.
Other than not being able to use my arm due to surgery, I have found myself on a funk due to wanting to shoot things things that are the same old same old-- same poses, same costumes etc... and not really having the capacity to change it up right now. I don't do headshots, looking through my portfolio to find headshots for this confirmed that completely, but Peter's content always sucks me in and I know that it's more likely to be a revenue stream compared to "creative artistic ideas" thus I want to get better at it and have skills I can be confident of in any setting.
