Photography is sort of a family tradition started by my father. He did it not to earn a living since he always worked at something else, but because he loved it. That pretty much describes me. I can't remember a time that I did not own a camera. There have been times that life has conspired to keep me from using a camera, but with age there has come a little peace and order and I once again have the time to do this thing I love. I held out from joining the digital age for a while, probably due to a bit of snobbery. But when I finally broke down and bought my first DSLR I realized what a game-changer this new technology was.
I love taking pictures of people. I think of my photographs as my legacy. I know that years from now, after I am long gone, someone will look at a photograph that I have taken and it will bring back memories and feelings and, in some form, I will be part of that. And that is very cool.
