I bought my first 35mm film camera when I was 17-years old. I was moving to New York for a change, but deep down I wanted to be a photographer. I went everywhere with my camera in my hands. I fell in love with the city.
I became what you would call a street photographer. I took photos of the goings-on in the city: people, places, things. This is when my love of taking photos of people began to blossom. There is a lot of character in a persons face, and I love telling their story in a photo!
Years later, I moved to Los Angeles. Again, for a change but still with a camera in my hands. Initially, I was still shooting street scenes but eventually the mountains called me. There is a lot within a short driving distance from Los Angeles: north you have Yosemite, east there is Death Valley, and west are the cliffs and beaches. I went everywhere. All. The. Time. I won many photo contests for my landscapes, I was published in both online and print magazines, and I was solicited for a billboard campaign.
Now, back on the East Coast with my wife, I am continuing with my love of photographing people as a professional headshot photographer. I still get to tell a story, but more importantly I get to help people feel confident at the same time! Nothing makes me feel better about what I do than when a client is ecstatic about their new headshot.
