I started out shooting youth football for my son and 3 nephews. I had people coming up and telling me I should be charging people for photos. I think I was more afraid of failure and having people mad at me. A good friend of mine had a nice long talk with me about the business (she has been a photographer for 25 years). So I joined the PPA, started watching a lot of videos from Manny Ortiz, Miguel Quiles, Vanessa Joy, Adorama, B&H and Peter Hurley. The two things that stuck in my head that my friend told me we’re, have a plan and pick a style and master it. The sports stuff comes easy for me, and we don’t have any photographer in the area that does action sports. I then shot my first Quinceanera and I loved it! After that I started using Bark to get some leads and I noticed alot of people requesting headshots, both actor/actress and corporate. I concentrated on Peter Hurley videos on you tube. I went to my first Imaging USA in 2022, and met Mr.Hurley, great energetic person. I got his book, joined the headshot crew and the rest of my story will be updated as I improve at headshots.
