About Donna

Hello! My name is Donna and I am the owner of a family operated full service performing arts  company that was established in 1996.  The company incorporates four facets:
1) REJOICE! Performing Arts Academy
2) REJOICE! Model
4) REJOICE! Photography
The academy trains the students in private and semi-private sessions in Ballet, Lyrical, Classical Violin, Piano, Acoustic Guitar, Vocals for Singers, Acting for Film, and Modeling for Print and Runway.  I am a certified Ballet Instructor via Ballet Magnificat! which is based on the Agrippina Vagonava Syllabus with a twist.  Our students have gone on to be accepted into East Carolina University's Dance Performance Program, University of Greensboro, Bellhaven University in MS, etc ... most recently my daughter is in the stretch of being accepted into Light of the World Ballet in Syracuse, NY.  Keeping our feet and Ballet toes crossed ...
In 2005, I became involved with several National Talent Search Companies and Conventions.  I submitted our students and trained/coached other contestants in several different states to prepare them for competition. More than several have made it and have won awards and received favorable call backs from national indusry professionals (Wallace Agency in LA, Joy Pervis in GA, James Pentaudi in NYC, Shirley Grant in NJ, Film Academy in NYC, RED Model Mgt in NYC, etc).
Several regional and national industry professionals encouraged me to broaden REJOICE! Academy to encompass an agency. Thus, REJOICE! Model & Talent Management (RMTM) was launched in 2009.  Our talents have booked regional and national union projects as background and principle roles for actors as well as national record labels for our musical artist's.
A crucial part was missing. I continually had a problem finding an excellent, affordable photographer that knew how to shoot headshots for me to send my students and talents to in our community. I was getting more than a little weary of having to talk each photographer through exactly what was needed for a "simple" head shot, body shot, and character shot for the actors. Don't get me wrong, quite a few of them are excellent photographers, but just not sure of how to produce an industry standard head shot.
As a creative person, I have wanted to pick up photography for the past ten years, but could never afford a decent camera, so I "played" with my simple camera just for angles, lighting, etc. I have an innate good eye. The shots taken with the less than professional camera still came out well, though not of high resolution for professional use. I knew that I would eventually be doing the photography for my people myself once I had the right camera.  One finally fell into my lap and I was off and running!
I know the results needed for an industry standard headshot in order for them to book work.  While my service and product will remain very high, the prices will be reasonable. My students and talents are already booking using my head shots. That's the bottom line, isn't it! :)
