Being an Actor myself for close to 25 years, and makeup artist even longer and having a love of wanting to learn photography even longer than that, that when I finally was able to take the courses necessary I decided it was a natural progression to start shooting headshots. As an actor, I know how difficult it is to get the perfect shot for yourself. I found many great photographers, but they wanted me to pose like a model, when I wanted to act in front of the camera and didn't always get the look or experience that I wanted. So I developed a technique that seems to mirror what Peter Hurley does, and that is for your to see the camera lens as your scene partner, protagonist/antagonist, villain, lover, best friend and not the thing you were trained to avoid to make eye contact with while learning your craft as an actor. I love when the actor and I get in sinc, that even the slightest happy grunt from me, tells them that I see a shot and not to move. I want you feeling like they had a coaching session and not a headshot session.
