Hi I'm a Guatemalan photographer living in France. How cool isn't? I love taking headshots and portraiture is my thing it’s what I love. But I do film some corporate stuff, and spend a lot of time editing videos.
I'm a professional photographer and videographer since 5 years ago.
I also work on a YouTube channel called "F/1.4 - A pleine ouverture" there I have my own show which is called "Mode Manuel" I do an episode once every month.
There I train people to learn how to use their gear. Cause I’m sort of a geek about gear.
I also do more specific tutorials that are sold on line, in French of course, it’s more focused on commercial photography, which in the ends is what I am. Like packshots, catalog images, test agence etc.
Since last year I’ve also started to do some personal work in Latin America. I do portraits of people that’s been separated from their family that live in North America, I print them and then send them to their relatives. The images I took this year, have created an impact on other photographers in France who want to come with me next year to help me, so I can take more pictures. I’m very happy to be able to do this kind portraiture because it fills me.
I've been very busy doing my YouTube videos and editing mine and other tutorials that I've had to leave aside my own portraiture. I'm planning on really building from scratch a new business based on a very specific type of headshot portraiture, cause even If finally started to make some income teaching photography, it's still not enough. I wanted as well be part of a community of people that understand portraiture and headshot photography.
I already have an approach to people, when I'm shooting portraits, and that approach has extended to every new person I meet, I'm just curious about others and I ask a lot of questions and I'm as friendly as I can.
I wanted to learn more about portraiture, and what better place than here, "La crème de la crème" as they say here in France.
I'm looking forward to take my skills to a higher level, I'm very happy to be here, to learn with you, to learn from you and to share what I've learned as well. I believe that's the best way to learn anything.
