Well, I'm actually new to headshot photography. The only photography experience I have was shooting basic food photography for a cooking company in 2011 and 2012. My primary skills are video production, but I have a passion for creating great images regardless of medium. I recognize the importance of good lighting and see the common denominators in photography and cinematography. Over the past two years I've followed on Youtube, Joel Grimes, Vincent Laforet and featured photographers on Westcott's channel. In summer of 2015, I've watched as much of Peter Hurley as I can including Periscope. I try to incorporate the squint, jaw line and mouth techniques as best as I can. My strengths are social skills to entertain and make my clients as comfortable and relaxed as possible. As I shoot testimonial videos for businesses it was easy to see what Peter meant about being a therapist to your client. I have been successful making people speak naturally and comfortably on camera who have no on camera experience, so I know I'm on the right path joining the headshot crew!
