I've lived in New York City all my life. Ever since I was five, I was fascinated by cameras. When it came time to choose High Schools, I ended up in the first graduating class of a public film school in Queens, Academy for Careers in Television and Film. I figured if I liked messing with cameras, I'd be happy. Little did I know how lucky I was to had ended up there. Amazingly, all of my production teachers were active industry professionals, with endless résumés. After production classes, I was so inspired that I would go home and teach myself how cameras worked, how great photographs were created, and how great movies were shot. I learned everything I possibly could about photography from the ground up, by myself. What came of that was a remarkably practical knowledge of photography, learning from my own work and my own mistakes. Four years of film school later, I had developed a strong passion for photography: the perfect balance of technical skill and visual creativity. I still go home and study photography everyday. I can't get enough of it. During the summer after my junior year, I made my first music video. One month into my senior year, at 17, I directed, filmed, and edited my second and third full music video. All three were executed by myself. In the following months, multiple photos of mine were published in the Huffington Post twice and the NY Daily News. Various photos of mine were also selected for the Teen Art Gallery, a nationally covered teen-only organization and displayed in their exhibit in midtown Manhattan. A crew of mine also won, that year, a New Visions competition for a video about College/Career Readiness. Additionally, I hold New York State CTE Certification in Television and Film Production. Today, I work as a freelance head shot, portrait, and event photographer, and a staff photographer for the Young People's Chorus of New York City.
