My name is Rome Aka Gio. I have been involved in Photography ever since my high school days back in the early 90’s, then hit and miss later throughout my military days with the United States Marines and the United States Army. I received a Bachelors of Arts with a minor in Graphic Design while serving for my country. In addition, I stumbled upon the opportunity to shoot people all over the world, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and more thanks to Uncle Sam... For the past 10 years Photography has been on a stand still since I lost everything in hurricane Katrina, but photography is a true passion for me and I am quickly returning with a vengeance.

I had absolutely no idea that my natural character traits to interacting with all types of individuals would ease the time helping my clients break down their proverbial walls and reveal the actual beauty from within them through their images.

Photography never was even a thought when I first started out. I took graphic design in school and later college and married a German Frau (lady) who in turn gave me my best friend and buddy ever, our son. Those three things are my life and internal passion. Well, but then there is Nickleback, my New Orleans Saints,Salsa dancing, and anything directed by Steven Soderbergh.

I always seek the best of the best to learn from in each area of photography. In 2012, I learned that Peter Hurley was someone I wanted to learn from and I have learned from others in the industry with names like Rolando Gomez, Arny Freytag, Harrison Funk, Eli Reed, Jerry Avenaim, Robert Farber, Rick Friedman and many others over the past 14 years.

All in all, what I have learned throughout the years and keep learning shows in my images. I have recently made a personal choice to specialize in three areas: portfolios, portraiture and head shots. Maintaining focus (no pun intended) on what I could achieve with my camera to alter the way someone sees his or herself means everything to me. This moves me more then anything else.

I performed my first professional photo shoot in 1999 with a pro model and her reaction and emotion to the pictures just made me feel amazing. Since then, I have completely crafted and shaped my talents over the years. I offer something for everyone as I work with professional models and actors to kids and newborns. If you never done a professional shoot before, do not worry.

My number one goal is to create images you will treasure for a lifetime and get booked! I look forward to hearing from you!

My artistic background includes not only photography, but music, percussion, and graphic design. I also enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking, skydiving, scuba, and many others.

As your photographer, I bring all of my life experiences into the scenes, which are from all around the world and culturally diverse (I did marry a beautiful German woman in Heidelberg, Germany! Shhhh…don’t need her head blown up even more…) to help capture your photographs and I know the importance of how the true essence of your images should be captured and saved. You can rest assured that your shot are only a flash away.

My role is extremely important to me for my clients. My commitment is 100% for you and only you. Thanks to the Marine Corps, my confidence level is always high knowing that we both will create some of the best images possible.
