About Marianne

Business Headshot photography:

Executive portraits: I work carefully with a goal of presenting each subject's distinctive vision of her or his public persona. With an expertise in both natural and studio lighting as well as the subtle use of digital editing techniques, I offer a final image that my clients are proud to present to both colleagues and friends, online and in print. I offer a variety of private sessions in my Newton studio.

Location Headshots:

My assistant and I arrive at your place of business with a full studio setup and efficiently complete head shots of your executives and staff. Head shots sessions are typically 15 minutes each - with executive sessions at 30 minutes. In addition, environmental portraits of executives can be customized to meet your needs

At each session we shoot and review a quick set of test shots with our subject before continuing the session, with the goal of arriving at a customized image designed to showcase each subject at their professional best.

The shots are sent directly to the computer station where my assistant and I will help the subject choose the final image(s) on site. The chosen files are skillfully edited in my office and the files are returned in a timely manner, optimized for web and for print, or to your custom specification.

Pricing is dependent on size of the group and choice of sessions. Volume discounts are included. Please contact me for detailed information.

Family portraits: I strive to capture the special relationships among the family members. My goal is to create portraits that I imagine will grace the fireplace mantles of generations to come. I offer sessions my Newton studio, outdoor locations or in the family home.

Children: I love to present the unique personality of every child or young adult I photograph. I prefer to spend a longer session at the playground or the family home with young children and capture them in their natural environment.

A brief CV…..

I have had a camera in my hand since childhood and have studied photography in all its forms as it has evolved from film to digital.

I grew up with a darkroom in my home and was developing my film and printing my images at an early age.

I attended Cambridge School of Weston (class of 1975) which had an intensive photography program centered on the Ansel Adams Zone System. CSW had wonderful teachers, and an amazing darkroom setup. I was named a "Master of the Guild" which was a huge honor and allowed me a key and 24 hour access to the darkroom - which I used extensively.

My first job was as a photographer in the late 70′s – since then I have enjoyed several careers including audio and video production – real estate asset management – attorney – fundraiser for non-profits –political fundraiser on both a local and national level. Although I have many interests, I have never put down my camera.

I graduated from Boston University (BA 1987) and Harvard Law School (JD 1991).

I live and work in Newton MA.

I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
