About James

James Moxley is a portrait and fashion photographer based in Nanaimo, British Columbia. He moved from Scotland in 2011, where he spent a lot of time travelling through the country rock climbing, riding his motorbike through the Cairngorms and white water kayaking many of the rivers through Glen Etive. He is an alumni of Sheridan College's Art Program, focusing on life drawing and painting. He spent his summers as a videographer, working for the rafting companies producing videos of clients tackling the rivers. His current passion is Stand Up Paddling, hiking, snowboarding and of course photography. He has recently trained with one of the world's best natural light photographers Stanislav Puchkovsky (Sean Archer), where after completing his own work, his photo reached the front page of 500px.com, with over 18,000 views. In the spring of 2014 he was asked to write an article for F-Stoppers called "How I shot it" for their online publication. He is recently engaged to Katherine Robinson a Registered Nurse who specializes in New Born, Maternity and Engagement Photography.
