About Gary

A marketing advisor by trade and digital tech by default, I've taken a somewhat unchartered path into the commercial production industry. I was never given a camera on a family vacation at an early age or spent much time in a dark room. I stumbled upon photography in 2007 while living in Europe's only Communist country, the Republic of Moldova. While working for the Peace Corps abroad, I found it necessary to document the culture, struggle, and local characters. On this quest, I set out to make a full feature documentary that asked the question: "Was life better during the Soviet Union." During this quest to make a documentary, I submerged myself into online tutorials, books, advice from photographers, and of course, photography.

SInce then, I've taken it upon myself to learn every part of the photography industry. I worked as a teacher and business consultant for Apple, a digital tech for commercial photographers and currently work full time as studio manager, retoucher, and producer for RGG Photo based in Chicago and St. Louis. We specialize in commercial food, beverage, and product photography and serve clients such as Kraft, AB+InBev, Jack Daniels, Grey Goose, WIld Turkey, and Bacardi just to name a few.

In addition to this, I take on portrait and editorial based assignments and specialize in music photography.
