Dustin Jack is a Los Angeles based photographer/artist with a wide range of specialties. With over 20 years experience, Dustin has developed a unique style and vision. Some areas of notable excellence include concert, sports, portraiture, fine art, landscape and studio photography. Dustin is also an accomplished graphic artist with expertise in branding, advertising, design and layout. He is a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals and a 2013 Photoshop Guru Award winner. Dustin's photography career started when he was a sophomore in High School. Mostly self taught, he built a darkroom in his bathroom and read everything he could get his hands on. Dustin moved to Los Angeles in 1994 with no plan, and only a dream. Lived in Hollywood for two days when he landed his first real Pro job at Butterfield and Butterfield auction house. For the next 7 years Dustin spent thousands of hours in the darkroom and became very well versed in 4x5 large format photography. Every day was an adventure. On any given day he might shoot the Ruby Slippers from The Wizard of OZ, The Batmobile, a Rembrandt, A Warhol, The Titanic menu and Elvis' Jumpsuit. Dustin credits these years of diverse studio work that have helped me to be a very well rounded photographer. Today, Dustin is responsible for all guitar studio and reference photography for Fretted Americana Inc. accumulating an astounding 100,000 images of the most sought after vintage guitars in the world. Dustin designs and is responsible for all advertising and imaging for the company including logos, magazine ads, web site images, business cards, banners, posters and T-shirt designs. As a director and editor, Dustin has produced over 300 episodes of the Fretted Americana Inc. PHIL X Show, which at this time, has over 43 Million views on You Tube. Dustin’s body of work continues to grow as he works for Fretted Americana, David Brass Rare Books, Tone Americana and personal fine art works and concerts. Some of the bands and musicians Dustin has photographed include, Tommy Lee, Zakk Wylde, Motley Crue, DJ Ashba, DAUGHTRY, KISS, The Guana Batz, Black Label Society, Phil X and The DRILLS, Rob Zombie, John 5, George Thorogood and the Destroyers, Alter Bridge, Slash, Tremonti, Tiger Army, Nick 13, No Doubt, The Beastie Boys, TESLA, Kings of Chaos and many others. Dustin’s work has been published in Rolling Stone, SABIAN, BASS Player, Modern Drummer, Guitarist, Vintage Guitar and other music related magazines.
