About Marc

“It's marvelous, marvelous! Nothing will ever be as much fun. I'm going to photograph everything, everything!” - Jacques-Henri Lartigue, age 7.

I’ve always loved photography, probably influenced by my father, who was doing amazing stuff during the film era. I moved seriously into photography after retiring from Ironman triathlon (not that I was a pro, far from it) and set up a studio at home. What really gets me going is getting people in front of my camera, watch how they fear, to various extents, what will appear on the screen and then see how happy they are with the outcome. It’s amazing to observe how people can quickly get comfortable in front of a camera with a little encouragement. The biggest thrill, however, is handing them out a big print and see how happy they are.
I am working in finance during the day: good for the ability to buy stuff, but a numbing effect on the brain from time to time. Photography calls for a different part of the brain to work, I believe, and this is an added bonus.
I have spent a lot of time taking pictures of my two boys, Nicholas and Maxime, who have become consummate models even if not by choice, as well as of my beautiful wife, Andrea. Now, any time I can find a “victim” for a headshot, I will use the opportunity.

"It’s one thing to make a picture of what a person looks like, it’s another thing to make a portrait of who they are." – Paul Caponigro
